Armin Chodzinski (2018)

Armin Chodzinski (* 1970 in Hamburg ) is an artist , author and performer living in Hamburg .

Life

Armin Chodzinski studied from 1993 to 1998 at the University of Fine Arts in Braunschweig with Thomas Huber and Raimund Kummer . From his preoccupation with the question of the social relevance of contemporary art, the project Armin Chodzinski muss ins Management arose in 1998 , which led him to the management of SPAR Handels AG and management consultancies.

In various exhibitions and performance lectures, he negotiated the experience-based network of relationships between art and business in public. From 2001 to 2009, together with Claus Noppeney , he led the consulting and research platform CNC for organization & visual culture, business process & form, management & image competence. From 2003 to 2006 Armin Chodzinski did his doctorate at the University of Kassel in the department of anthropogeography on the historical genesis of the relationship between art and economy from Peter Behrens , Emil Rathenau to dm-drogerie markt . From 2009 to 2012 he worked as a lecturer and researcher at the Lucerne School of Design & Art on a research project on the current situation between art and business. As a lecturer at various universities and colleges in Germany, England and Switzerland, he teaches on the subjects of art, economics, urbanism and social conditions (e.g. University of St. Gallen , Zurich University of the Arts, etc.).

Another focus of his artistic and journalistic activities is the examination of urban space, as a distillation point of social conditions, and tension as an action phenomenon in the knowledge society.

Since 1998 Chodzinski has been developing a practice between mediation, self-experimentation and research in performances, lectures and exhibitions , which he continues to develop in theaters and exhibition rooms as well as on radio and television.

Examples of this include the radio feature We call it corporate song from 2010, his broadcast on the subject of Mod (subculture) as part of the conspiratorial kitchen concerts 2011 on ZDFkultur , the lecture performance show The dogs bite the last at the 2012 International Summer Festival Kampnagel in Hamburg or participation in the exhibition Metaphors of Growth at the Kunstverein Hannover 2011.

Between 1998 and 2008 he was the editor of the newspaper Revision and the e-mail publication pirated copy . Armin Chodzinski is a member of the German Association of Artists .

You could probably say: Armin Chodzinski dances the theory. [...] Extra a bit tense. Endeavored to construct and deconstruct. And: with a tie, of course. "

Since 2015 he has been developing the feature series Dr.C.'s Conversationslexikon together with Nis Kötting - an economic radio feature series with and without an audience for the SWR . So far: A for stocks, E for efficiency, G for money, I for innovation, M for management, S for debt, W for growth. Jochen Meißner writes about this in the media correspondence on May 16, 2015: "In" Dr. C.'s Conversationslexikon ", which the SWR has announced as a" radio revue series on the therapy of rampant ignorance ", Armin Chodzinski gives something again cramped private scholars in salmon-colored suits. Chodzinski has been working as an artistic consultant for companies since 2017.
