ArtLine Engineering (or NP Sports & Technological Club ArtLine Engineering ) is a Russian manufacturer of single-seater racing cars called ArtTech . The company appears in racing as the Art-Line Engineering or ArtLine Racing team .

history

In 1999 ArtLine Engineering, still with a Dallara chassis, took part in the Russian Formula 3 championship for the first time, which it retained even after the conversion to the F1600 in 2003. That year, the team used converted Dallara F393 chassis with modified VAZ engines. These formula racing cars had a 5-speed (cam) gearbox and a limited-slip differential , the design office also developed its own suspension system and increased the cars' aerodynamic performance. In 2004, the ArtTech F1605 was the first time a self-designed car was used in the racing series, for which a second team was initiated under the name Unit Art-Line (later Sitronics Racing ), which existed at least up to and including 2007. The first team used the old Dallara chassis under the name Istok Art-Line Racing until the middle of the 2007 season, before switching completely to the ArtTech F1607 chassis.

At the end of 2007, Art-Line Engineering competed in the Finnish Formula 3 championship for the first time in Alastaro , and in 2008 it competed continuously, although full-time driver Wiktor Schaitar mostly used a Dallara F308 with an Opel skewer engine, with one exception from the first race weekend in Ahvenisto and the fourth on the Botniaring , where an ArtTech F304 with a FIAT Novamotor was used.

Dallara F307 at the Hockenheimring 2011

From 2009 Stromos ArtLine Racing was active in the German Formula 3 Cup with the ArtTech F24 model and OPC Challenge engines - since then the team has only appeared sporadically in Finnish Formula 3 with Dallara vehicles - and immediately won the trophy rating. The title was defended the following year. In the last race in 2010 , a Dallara F307 with an OPC Challenge engine was also used for the main classification. In 2011 the team took part in seven of the nine race weekends, with the ArtTech F24M registered in the Trophy Championship being driven alternately by four drivers, while the Estonian Antti Rammo drove a Dallara F307 OPC Challenge throughout the main standings. Contrary to other statements, the team no longer competed in the German Formula 3 Cup in 2012 , but is aiming to return in 2013 .

In 2010 Stromos ArtLine Racing entered into a cooperation with the Finnish team ADRF ( Alan Docking Racing Finland ), but its headquarters are still in Moscow , alongside workshops in Finland and Germany.

ArtTech F1605

With the ArtTech F1605, a self-developed monoposto with a monocoque made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic was tested for the first time in 2004 . ArtLine Engineering was the first company in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe to produce a single-seater racing car of this type. (Note: The Russian company AKKC Motorsport developed the Formula RUS monoposto as early as 2000, but in a tubular steel frame construction.) It was used in the F1600 series and once, without point entitlement, in the Finnish Formula 3 championship (Botniaring 2008) .

ArtTech F24

The ArtTech F24 is a Formula 3 vehicle that has been used since 2009 in the trophy classification of the German Formula 3 Cup , which was actually launched for older models. Two of these cars were used consistently in 2009 and three in 2010, with the trophy title being won in a superior manner (each with 17 out of 18 possible victories). In 2009 they even made it into the points in the main classification, which was unusual for Trophy models.
