ARTE Lounge is a monthly late-night format produced by Studio.TV.Film and broadcast on Arte for the first time on May 13, 2007 under the motto Classic goes Clubbing .

As a new entertainment format, the show breaks up the fixed structures of the classical scene by combining classical world stars as well as newcomers from different genres such as pop, dance and performance in its program.
Contributors
The musical direction was taken over by the concert pianist Andreas Kern in episodes 1 to 27 and from episode 28 the star violinist Daniel Hope. Moderators were Alice Tumler , Daniel Hope , Yared Dibaba , Measha Brueggergosman , Elīna Garanča , Patrice Bouédibéla and Oceana . Other contributors such as David Kanisius, Mr. Maloke from the Puppetmastaz and others supported the moderators. The guests included the Fauré Quartet , Sarah Chang , David Orlowsky Trio, Sol Gabetta , Ludovico Einaudi , Rufus Wainwright , Gentleman , Jan Vogler , Bonaparte , Peaches , Chilly Gonzales , Miss Platnum , Mocky , Barbara Schöneberger , Avi Avital , Martin Helmchen , Gábor Tarkövi , Giora Feidmann, Pierre-Laurent Aimard , Alliage Quintett, Get Well Soon , Alexej Gerassimez, Jean-Yves Thibaudet , Asaf Avidan , Anne Sofie von Otter and many more.

The Arte Lounge will be recorded live with the audience in a Berlin club. The venues already included Maria am Ostbahnhof , Radialsystem V , Arena , Konzerthaus Berlin , Kesselhaus der Kulturbrauerei and the Catwalk Club in Barcelona.
