The Arun banner ( Chinese  阿荣旗 , Pinyin Āróng Qí ; Mongolian ᠠᠷᠤᠨ ᠬᠣᠰᠢᠭᠤ Arun qosiɣu ) is a banner located in the administrative area of ​​the prefecture-level city of Hulun Buir of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region ofthe People's Republic of China . It has an area of ​​12,063 km² and has 331,762 inhabitants (end of 2009). In addition to forestry (over 5600 km² of forest) and grazing cattle (around 2000 km² of grassland), there is also over 3100 km² of arable land in the Arun banner, where mainly soy , maize , potatoes and sunflowers are grown. Rich deposits of copper , iron ore , lead , zinc , oil shale , marble , fluorite and quartz are exploited in numerous mines.

Administrative structure

At the community level, the Arun banner consists of five large communities and four nationality communities. These are:

Greater community Naji (那吉镇), the seat of the banner government;
Greater community Horqi (霍尔奇镇);
Greater community Liuhe (六合镇);
Greater community Xiangyangyu (向阳峪镇);
Greater community Yadong (亚东镇);
Community Chabaqi the Evenk (查巴奇鄂温克族乡);
Community Deliqir the Evenk (得力其尔鄂温克族乡);
Community Xinfa the Koreans (新发朝鲜族乡);
Community Yinhe of Daur and Evenk (音河达斡尔鄂温克族乡).

There are also two state farms and a state forest.
