Elina Danieljan ( Armenian Էլինա Դանիելյան ; born August 16, 1978 in Baku , Azerbaijani SSR ) is an Armenian chess player .

Life

Danieljan won the youth world championship in the U14 female age group in Duisburg in 1992 and the competition in the U16 female age group in Bratislava a year later .

Danieljan won the Armenian Women's Championship in 1993, 1994, 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2004. She has held the title of Women's Grand Master (WGM) since 1994 , the title of International Master (IM) since 2003 and the title of Grand Master (GM) since 2010 . She met the IM standards at the European women's individual championship in 2001 in Warsaw , in February 2002 at the Aeroflot Open in Moscow and in February 2003 at the Open in Cappelle-la-Grande , and the GM standards in August 2007 at the open Greek championship in Kavala , in March 2009 at a tournament of the FIDE Grand Prix women 2009-2011 in Istanbul and in August 2010 at the 19th Open in Kavala. As of January 2015, she ranks 19th in the FIDE world women's rankings and leads the Armenian women's rankings.

Elina Danieljan took part with the Armenian women's team from 1992 to 2014 in all Chess Olympiads as well as again in the 2018 Chess Olympiad , as well as in the women's team championships in 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2015 and since 1997 in eleven European team championships . She won the European Women's Team Championship in Plovdiv in 2003 and achieved the best individual result on the top board as well as the second best rating of all participants.

In Armenia Danieljan played for MIKA Yerevan , with whom she took part in the European Women's Club Cup nine times in a row from 2005 to 2013 and won it in 2006. She won the Armenian team championship in 2005 with MIKA Yerevan and in 2014 with Pyunik Yerevan . In China, Danieljan played for Tianjin in 2007 and from 2011 to 2013 and was team champion with this in 2013 . In 2018 she competed for Hebei . In the Dutch Meester class she has played sporadically at the Schaakclub Groningen since 2008 .
