Tigran Kotanjian ( Armenian Տիգրան Քոթանջյան ; born September 1,  1981 in Yerevan ) is an Armenian chess player who has held the title of Grand Master since July 2006.

His grandmaster title was applied for in June 2006, but it could not be awarded until a month later, when he had achieved the necessary Elo rating . The standards for the GM title achieved Tigran Kotanjian in March 2006 at the Armenian individual championship and just three weeks later at the European championship in Kuşadası .

In 2007 he won the Armenian team championship with Bank King Yerevan .

His tournament successes include victories at the Dubai Open 2009 (after ranking ahead of Dmitri Botscharow and Aschot Anastassjan ) and the Asrian Memorial in Jermuk in 2010 and 2011. He won the international Open in Beirut in April 2012 and in May 2013. In January 2014 he won thanks better score ahead of Robert Howhannisjan the Armenian national championship in Yerevan. Although he only ranks 18th in the national ranking, he was then appointed to the national team for the 2014 Chess Olympiad . Kotanjian had already been registered as the second reserve player of the Armenian team for the World Team Championship in Bursa in 2010 , but remained without a mission.

Kotanjian's hobby is beekeeping.
