Autonomous banner of the Evenks
The Autonomous Banner of the Evenks ( Chinese 鄂温克 族 自治旗 , Pinyin Èwēnkèzú Zìzhìqí ; Mongolian ᠡᠸᠡᠩᠬᠢ ᠥᠪᠡᠷᠲᠡᠭᠡᠨ ᠵᠠᠰᠠᠬᠤ ᠬᠣᠰᠢᠭᠤ Eveŋki over jasaqu qosiɣu ; Evenki Ewengki Aimanni Mvvngkeng Isihēr Gosa ) is a banner in the administrative area of the prefecture-level city of Hulun Buir in the extreme northeast of the Autonomous Region of Inner Mongolia of the People's Republic of China . It has an area of 19,111 km² and has around 140,000 inhabitants (end of 2004). The autonomous banner is located just south of the Hailar district.
