Giuliano Benassi from laut.de rated As Time Goes By… The Great American Songbook Volume II with two out of five points. He thinks that the album doesn't deliver anything new compared to its predecessor It Had to Be You… The Great American Songbook . In addition, “the shallow orchestral accompaniment” is criticized, “which sounds more like karaoke based on the keyboard than like working on scores.” Only Queen Latifah's guest appearance is positively highlighted.
