Ashley Monroe
Ashley Lauren Monroe (born September 10, 1986 in Knoxville , Tennessee ) is an American country singer and songwriter . She is successful as a soloist and alongside Miranda Lambert and Angaleena Presley as part of the supergroup Pistol Annies .
Career
Ashley Monroe moved to Nashville with her mother as a teenager after the death of her father. She started writing songs and had her first appearances here. Monroe has been in the US country charts since 2006 and her first single, Satisfied . With the follow-up single I Don't Want To , a duet with Ronnie Dunn from Brooks & Dunn , she had her first Top 40 success in the same year. However, this wasn't enough for their record company, and the planned release of their debut album was initially canceled. It was not until 2009 that the work appeared digitally on iTunes, among others . Monroe concentrated on songwriting and found buyers for her songs in The Little Willies , Carrie Underwood , Vince Gill , Sara Evans and Bonnie Tyler . So far, two artists with Monroe's compositions have had number one hits on the country charts; Jason Aldean with The Truth (2009) and Miranda Lambert with Heart Like Mine (2011).
From 2011 Monroe celebrated success with the Pistol Annies, whose albums Hell on Heels (2011) and Annie up (2013) were very successful. Hell on Heels was gold plated. Monroe also established herself as a soloist in the country business with the albums Like a Rose (2013) and The Blade (2015). Both albums found themselves on several annual best lists. Time chose The Blade from among the ten best albums of 2015.
Her biggest hit so far was a duet with Blake Shelton . Lonely Tonight comes from Shelton's album Bringing Back the Sunshine and reached number two on the country and number 47 of the pop charts. In addition, the single was awarded a gold award. With Shelton, Monroe had already sung the traditional and humorous duet You Ain't Dolly (And You Ain't Porter ) on Like a Rose . This song was also played in the Nashville country series , for which Monroe wrote other songs. Monroe has been nominated for a number of awards, including two Grammy awards and two CMA awards .
Private life
The singer is the Since 2013 Baseball - Pitcher married John Danks. The two have a son (* 2017).
