The Asphe (also Asphebach ) is a 10.5 km long, left tributary of the Wetschaft tributary Treisbach in the districts of Waldeck-Frankenberg and Marburg-Biedenkopf in Hesse .
geography
course
The Asphe rises at the southeast foot of the 583 m high coal mountain on the so-called Sackpfeifen-Vorhöhen in the eastern foreland of the Rothaargebirge and initially flows in an easterly direction, passing the village of Frohnhausen to the south. A northern source river, which has its source at a height of 481 m directly on the saddle between the two Kohlenberg peaks, flows to it from the left via Frohnhausen.
In the further south-eastern course, the Asphe passes the villages of Oberasphe , Niederasphe and Amönau , where it finally flows into the Treisbach .
