Astrid Griesbach
Astrid Griesbach (* 1956 in Meiningen ) is a German theater director .
Life
Astrid Griesbach studied German and Slavic studies in Erfurt from 1977 to 1979 . From 1980 to 1983 she trained as a puppeteer at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . She had her first engagement as a puppeteer in Gera until 1987. Then she studied directing at the HfS "Ernst Busch", internships with Frank Castorf , Heiner Müller , Robert Wilson , Ruth Berghaus and Benno Besson .
plant
Artistically, she feels obliged to the popular theater , the Commedia dell'arte and the Grand Guignol . Popular archetypes of puppet theater are at the center of her productions. These are fools or buffoons who view and comment on the plot from a disrespectful and amoral point of view. Her work is less about dealing with a specific text than about “washing over” a topic.
