Amelie Deuflhard
Amelie Deuflhard (* 1959 in Stuttgart ) is a German theater producer and director . She is currently the artistic director of Kampnagel in Hamburg . She is married and has four children.
Life and work
Deuflhard grew up in Stuttgart . After graduating from high school, she studied Romance studies , history and cultural studies in Frankfurt am Main , Tübingen and Montpellier . After completing her studies, she worked as a research assistant at the University of Tübingen and at the State Museum for Technology and Work in Mannheim . At the beginning of the 1990s she moved with her family to Berlin and worked there as a freelance production manager for independent theater, dance and music projects since 1996. In 1998 she took over the production management and management of public relations at the Berlin Sophiensaele , and in 2000 it was finally managed and directed. During her time, the Sophiensaele developed into a central location in Germany for the independent theater scene. In 2003, Deuflhard took over the chairmanship of the Zwischen Palast usage association, which aimed at an artistic display of the Palace of the Republic, which had already been gutted at that time . In 2004, together with Matthias Lilienthal and Philipp Oswalt , she finally took over the artistic direction of the Volkspalast project, a festival-like display of the Palace of the Republic . The display fueled the debate about the use of the area and the demolition and reconstruction of the Berlin City Palace .
In 2007 Deuflhard took over the artistic direction and management of Kampnagel in Hamburg , Germany's largest independent play and production facility for the performing arts . During her time as artistic director, Deuflhard Kampnagels was able to significantly strengthen its international reputation as an independent play and production facility for the performing arts . In the summer of 2016, she extended her contract for the second time until 2022.
social commitment
At the beginning of December 2014, the campaign with the Baltic Raw group opened the so-called "eco Favela Lampedusa Nord". As part of this project, a 24 hour performance takes place, which is used as a quarter for Lampedusa in Hamburg refugees. Shortly thereafter, the Hamburg Alternative for Germany state executive Jörn Kruse and Bernd Baumann filed a criminal complaint against Deuflhard with the public prosecutor's office on the grounds of "suspicion of aiding and abetting offenses against foreigners and suspicion of breach of trust". A few months later the public prosecutor's office announced that it was investigating Deuflhard for "aiding and abetting the violation of the right of residence for foreigners". Deuflhard then announced that he wanted to continue the project. She is also a member of the board of trustees of the “ Neighborhood Foundation ” of the Hamburg housing company SAGA .
