Atakan Akkaynak (born January 5, 1999 in Troisdorf , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German - Turkish football player . He has been under contract with Çaykur Rizespor in the Süper Lig since the 2019/20 season .

Career

Atakan Akkaynak was spotted by TuS 07 in the Troisdorf village of Oberlar at the age of six and played for half a year in its youth. In 2006 he moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen and from then until 2018 he played in all of the club's youth teams.

On June 29, 2018, the Dutch first division side Willem II Tilburg announced the signing of Akkaynak for the 2018/19 season until mid-2021. He made his professional football debut on August 17, 2018 - 2nd match day - in a 1-0 away win over FC Groningen started and was replaced by Dries Saddiki after 79 minutes .

For the 2019/20 season he was loaned to the Turkish first division club Çaykur Rizespor . The club ended the season in 15th place in the table, Akkaynak was used four times. After the end of the season Çaykur Rizespor signed him firmly.
