The ship was built in 1999 at the PH Tinnemans & Zonen shipyard in Maasbracht , the Netherlands . It got going as Lale Andersen and was used for excursions on the Weser off Bremerhaven . The ship was later sold to the Gerda Müller shipping company in Rabel , which used it for excursions on the Schlei . The hometown of the ship, renamed the Viking Princess , was Kappeln . At the end of 2017 the ship was sold to the shipping company Cassen Eils, which registered it in Cuxhaven . The ship's new name was Atlantis , a traditional name of the shipping company. The christening took place at the beginning of April 2018 in Cuxhaven. The godmother was Samanta-Jill Hey, the shipping company's navigator . The shipping company Cassen Eils uses the ship for excursions on the Elbe and to the seal banks in the Elbe estuary.
The ship is approved for 200 passengers. It has two salons on two decks that can accommodate around 140 people. The roof of the salon on the upper deck can be opened. There is also an outside area on the upper deck. A small restaurant and a bar are available on board.
