geography
Run
The Aubach rises at the southern foot of the Renfting ( 808 m above sea level ) east-southeast of the city center of Hauzenberg in the district of Germannsdorf on its easternmost hamlet Neuhäusl. It flows from a small pond at about 729 m above sea level at the tree line to the hedge wood in the south of the hamlet . NHN , which has a short ditch inlet from the east. The Aubach itself flows westward, first at the edge of the forest, then through a valley heir in the forest down to the Ritzermühle in Germannsdorf, where the open, flat corridor begins again and the first tributary to the Ruhmannsdorfer Graben from the north-northeast, a forest stream that is both longer than also has a larger catchment area between the mountain peaks of the Ruhmannsberg ( 862 m above sea level ) in the north-west and the Renfting in the south-east.
In the direction of the inlet of this brook, the Aubach flows for a short time and soon reaches its next bend to the west near the first house outside of Germannsdorf on Mühlweg, where the short Mühläckbach at only 543 m above sea level. NHN from the east. It then passes through the parish village of Germannsdorf and then turns south, where it is fed by the Ruhmannsdorfer Bach from far north on the northern edge of the Kropfmühl settlement . After passing Kropfmühl and a small industrial area on both sides of the valley, the creek, which continues to run in a south-westerly direction, now follows the municipal border between the town of Hauzendorf on the right and the Markt Untergriesbach on the left bank. From here he runs for a little more than half of his entire run in a mostly wooded Kerbtal with settlement only through two mill places. The first, the Hauzenberger Wastlmühle, where the stream level is now below 457 m above sea level. NHN , soon follows between two closely successive tributaries from about north.
After that, two tributaries from the Untergriesbach area, the Mühläckergraben and the Scharbachl, strive to the west towards the Aubach at a much greater distance. After the last, the Hauzenberger Aubachmühle is located on the right bank and the last right tributary Pislingbächlein flows in. After a long stretch, the Aubach enters the municipality of Thyrnau on the last half kilometer of its course and flows next to the railway bridge of the disused Hauzenberg – Passau railway through the Erla Valley near the Thyrnau hamlet of Schmölz at about 337 m above sea level. NHN from the left and finally north into the lower Erlau .

This runs briefly at Kropfmühle on the valley floor, which is already deepening again, and rises southward from it. After that, there is no longer any road running along the creek in the valley that is only crossed by two communal roads and only two spur roads descend into the valley floor.
