occupation

A short German silent film amusement with Ernst Lubitsch in a leading role is brought to the ice .

action

The two best buddies Ernst and Albert are chasing one and the same girl who both have their eyes on. The little one literally led the two of them onto black ice in the form of an ice rink, where the two act awkwardly as non-skaters. But even on the ice rink, nobody wants to give in, and the fight for the girl is becoming ever more intense. Suddenly the angry groom of the girl appears and puts an abrupt and powerful end to the duel. This decision imposed by a third party leads to the two fighting cocks Ernst and Albert reconciling with each other.

Production notes

Guided on the ice was created in Berlin at the beginning of 1915. The presumably short film passed the censorship test in April 1915, was banned from young people and was premiered on May 21, 1915 in the Berlin Apollotheater.

criticism

This time Oppenheimer & Reiter showed "a very good comedy" On the Ice ". Suffice it to point out the quality of this film to say that Messrs. Lubitsch and Paulig ... play the leading roles. "
