Neither of them is a short, German silent film comedy by and with Ernst Lubitsch from 1916.
action
Albert and Ernst are both interested in one and the same lady. That's why they woo this young woman, wait for her in her apartment and get into quarreling there. The heavily courted girl promises to go out with whoever tracks down her missing dog. Full of vigor, Ernst and Paul are now looking for the escaped animal, checking every four-legged friend on the street, but cannot find the right dog. And so everyone gets a rebuff from the beloved.
Production notes
Neither of the two is one of the least known films that Lubitsch has made. The one-act play with a length of about 320 meters was shot in autumn 1916, passed censorship in November of the same year and was banned from young people. Presumably, the 15-minute film premiered towards the end of the year. The short film opened in Vienna on March 16, 1917.
