August Stefan Kronstein
August Stefan Kronstein (born December 21, 1850 in Pest , † December 15, 1921 in Vienna ) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist .
Kronstein was a student of the painter Zsigmond Löschinger and the graphic artist A. Rohn and W. Grund in Pest . From 1869 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Peter Johann Nepomuk Geiger . He then became an employee of Ladislaus Eugen Petrovits and Vinzenz Katzler . In 1873 Kronstein was appointed head of the lithographic establishment of the Waldheim publishing house.
Kronstein also provided illustrations to many magazines, including Über Land und Meer , Deutsche Illustrirte Zeitung , Das Buch für alle , Gartenlaube and Illustrirte Zeitung . He created many pen drawings , woodcuts and watercolors with views of the city of Vienna.
