Auriol Sally Dongmo Mekemnang (born August 3, 1990 in Ngaoundéré ) is a Cameroonian shot putter who occasionally competes in a discus throw .

Athletic career

Auriol Dongmo Mekemnang gained her first international experience at the Africa Games 2011 in Maputo , where she won the gold medal in the shot put with a distance of 16.03 m and took fifth place with the discus with 40.34 m. The following year she won the bronze medal behind the Nigerians Chinwe Okoro and Omotayo Talabi at the African Championships in Porto-Novo with 15.41 m . In addition, she reached tenth place in the discus throw with 32.34 m. Also at the 2013 Francophonie Games in Nice , she won the bronze medal with 15.30 m behind Romanian Anca Heltne and Fabienne Digard from France. and at the 2013 Francophonie Games she won bronze. In 2014 she set new national records as seventh at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with 16.50 m and as the winner of the African Championships in Marrakech with 16.84 m. In addition, she was eighth at the Continental Championships with the discus with a width of 41.35 m. She then finished seventh with 15.77 m at the Continental Cup in Marrakech.

In 2015 she took part in the World Championships in Beijing for the first time and was eliminated there with a new best performance of 16.85 m in qualification . She then defended her shot put title at the Africa Games in Brazzaville with 17.21 m and was fifth with the discus with 45.14 m. She then won the bronze medal at the Military World Games in Mungyeon, South Korea, with 17.64 m and finished eighth with the discus with 46.44 m. The following year she won the African Championships in Durban with 17.64 m with 17.64 m and reached seventh place in the discus throw with 47.00 m. So she qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she finished twelfth with 16.99 m in the final . In 2017 she won the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku with 17.75 m and then also the Francophonie Games in Abidjan with 17.68 m .
