Auris is a pop / rock formation from the Austrian city of Graz .

history

The band was founded in Graz in 2006. Her first name (before 2006) was "Weed" and her music at that time went even more in the direction of acoustic - rock - funk , but there were also approaches to pop and latin . The band's first success was an appearance on Radio Steiermark on the Steirereck program . For this they recorded the first tracks in the ORF Landesstudio Styria . After that they let their music style mature for some time in order to release their first album " Zarte Temptation " in 2006 under the name "Auris" , which was presented at the UCI Graz. Worth mentioning is the so-called "Sense bag", which was specially developed by Dieter Czerny to make the music tangible "with all the senses". This idea gave the band the subtitle: "Music for all the senses". A year later, two new albums were released: Color entirely in German and ABC entirely in English, this time at the Kunsthaus Graz . In 2008 they released their first single, More Than Fantasies . The song was presented in October 2008 by the Austrian private radio station Antenne Steiermark and presented live by the band. The first animated music video What Can I Do was also presented as part of the program . The video and the single were played in 2008 at the Musik Expo Vienna and at Popkomm .

In 2008, 2007 and 2006 Auris was nominated for the Austrian Newcomer Award and in February 2008, after two preliminary rounds, the band was chosen as the audience winner of the Austrian Star of the Bar band competition.

engagement

In 2007 the band got involved in the “Black and White” project in favor of abused children and wrote the song Take your hands away , which appeared on the sampler Wos ned sein deaf . In 2008 they played a benefit concert together with Hansi Lang , Ernst Molden , Beckermeister and Vitruv for the benefit of the project.

Donation boxes are set up at every concert to support organizations such as Greenpeace , Amnesty International , WWF and Menschen für Menschen .

Auris also supports Lebenshilfe Weiz and the boy scouts with concerts.
