Adolfo Julio Carlos Schwelm-Cruz (born June 28, 1923 in Buenos Aires ; † February 10, 2012 there ) was an Argentine racing car driver .
Career
In 1949 Schwelm-Cruz drove the first professional races in Italy with an Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 . Two years later he won the championship in the national sports car racing series of Argentina, which helped him to become nationally known.
In the 1953 season , Schwelm-Cruz participated in his home race, the Argentine Grand Prix , in a Cooper T20 . Although he was able to qualify for the race in 13th place, he was the first driver to retire from the race after only 20 laps due to a wheel loss caused by a broken suspension.
