The Friedrichsthal motorway triangle (abbreviation: AD Friedrichsthal ; short form: Friedrichsthal triangle ) is a motorway triangle in Saarland . The federal autobahn 623 begins here by branching off from federal autobahn 8 (Saarland - Stuttgart  - Munich  - Salzburg ).

geography

The triangle lies in the urban area of Sulzbach in the Saarbrücken regional association . The surrounding towns and communities are Friedrichsthal , Quiigart and Sankt Ingbert . It is located about 10 km northeast of Saarbrücken, about 10 km west of Neunkirchen / Saar and about 60 km southeast of Trier .

The Friedrichsthal motorway triangle is number 20 on the A 8 and number 1 on the A 623.

Development condition and design

Just like the A 623, the A 8 has four lanes in this area. All transitions are single-lane.

The motorway triangle was built in the shape of a right-hand trumpet .
