The Saarlouis motorway triangle (abbreviation: AD Saarlouis ; short form: Saarlouis triangle ) is a motorway triangle in the Saarland near Dillingen (Saar) . Here the federal motorway 620 ( Saarlouis - Saarbrücken ) branches off from the federal motorway 8 (Saarland - Stuttgart - Munich - Salzburg ).

geography

The motorway triangle is located northwest of the eponymous city of Saarlouis , but it is in the area of the municipality of Wallerfangen . The surrounding towns and communities are Dillingen / Saar , Wallerfangen and Saarlouis.

At the Saarlouis motorway triangle, drivers coming from Luxembourg have to use a flyover to cross the motorway in order to stay on the A 8 ( TOTSO ). The two straight lanes become the A 620 and lead in the direction of Saarbrücken.

Immediately before the Saarlouis triangle (coming from the direction of Pirmasens ) you cross the Saar , to which the motorway runs parallel to Merzig .

State of development

Just like the A 620, the A 8 has four lanes in this area. All transitions are single-lane.

The crossing structure was built in the form of a right-hand trumpet.
