The Saarbrücken motorway triangle (abbreviation: AD Saarbrücken ; short form: Saarbrücken triangle ) is a motorway triangle in Saarland , which is located in the south of Saarbrücken . Here the federal motorway 620 ( Saarlouis  - Saarbrücken) changes into the federal motorway 6 (Saarbrücken - Mannheim  - Nuremberg ) ( Europastraße 50 ).

The triangle is located in the urban area of ​​Saarbrücken. The closest districts are Sankt Arnual , Güdingen and Brebach-Fechingen . It is located about 65 km east of Metz , about 70 km southwest of Kaiserslautern and about 5 km southeast of Saarbrücken city center.

Immediately to the west of the triangle is the Saar , which both motorways cross with bridges.

The Saarbrücken motorway triangle is number 22 on the A 620 and number 3 on the A 6.

Design and state of development

Due to the acute angle at which the motorways meet and the narrow inner-city development, as well as the simultaneous crossing of the Saar , there is no direct connection between the A 6 coming from the west and the A 620.

As a substitute, the traffic at the Saarbrücken-Fechingen exit will be returned two kilometers east via a turning loop. Large-scale traffic coming from Saarlouis is already routed through the city at the exhibition grounds exit on the A 620 or , coming from France , at the Goldene Bremm exit, past the cemetery and exhibition grounds.
