The Autobahnkreuz Nürnberg-Ost (abbreviation: AK Nürnberg-Ost ; short form: Kreuz Nürnberg-Ost ) is a Autobahnkreuz in Bavaria , which is located in the metropolitan region of Nuremberg . This is where the Federal Motorway 9 ( Berlin - Leipzig - Munich ) ( European Route 45 ) and the Federal Motorway 6 ( Saarbrücken - Mannheim - Nuremberg - Pilsen ) ( European Route 50 ) intersect .
geography
It is located in the community-free area of Feuchter Forst in the district of Nürnberger Land . It is located about 10 km southeast of Nuremberg and about 140 km north of Munich.
As an important traffic junction , it connects the A 9 from Berlin / Poland - Munich / Austria with the A 6 ( France / Paris - Czech Republic / Pilsen ).
The Nürnberg-Ost motorway junction is number 53 on the A 9 and number 60 on the A 6.
history
The cross was built in 1938 and renovated and expanded in 2002. There are many traffic jams around the cross, as it is of great importance for national traffic.
State of development
In this area, the A 6 has two lanes in each direction, the A 9 has three lanes. All transitions are single-lane.
The cross is laid out in the shape of a clover.
Renovation since 2019
Due to the frequent traffic jams around the cross, it should be better adapted to the traffic flows. The ramps for the traffic route from Heilbronn (A 6) to Berlin (A 9) and vice versa are to be two-lane in the future. A new semi-direct ramp ( overfly ) will be built for this and the Nürnberg-Fischbach junction will be adapted to the new ramps.
The renovation started in 2019 and should be completed by the end of 2024.
