The motorway junction Neufahrn (abbreviation: AK Neufahrn ; short form: Kreuz Neufahrn ) is a motorway junction in Bavaria , in the north of the Munich metropolitan region . The federal motorway 9 ( Berlin - Leipzig - Munich ) and the federal motorway 92 (Munich - Deggendorf ) intersect here .

geography

The cross is located in the municipality of Eching in the Upper Bavarian district of Freising . The surrounding cities and communities are Neufahrn bei Freising and Fahrenzhausen . The cross is located about 20 km north of Munich city center and about 50 km south of Ingolstadt .

It is an important traffic junction as it connects Munich Airport with the Munich city area.

The Neufahrn motorway junction has junction number 68 on the A 9 and number 4 on the A 92.

The federal highways 11 and 13 run nearby .

history

The cross was released in 1978 during the construction of the A 92 from Deggendorf. In 1980 the lane in the direction of Munich was released and the cross was completely passable.

Due to increasing traffic from the A 92 from Deggendorf and from Munich Airport to the A 9 south, plans for a semi-direct ramp to replace the previous two-lane clover were already in place for the 2006 World Cup . This narrowed noticeably in the process; the speed was limited to 40 km / h. Since April 2009 the semi-direct ramp has been built with funds from the German government's economic stimulus package II ; the traffic opening took place on September 13, 2011. In the course of the renovation, the connecting ramp from Munich - Feldmoching (A 92) in the direction of Munich - Schwabing (A 9), which previously ended bluntly, was provided with an acceleration lane.

Design and state of development

The Neufahrn motorway junction is a clover leaf with a semi-direct ramp for traffic from Deggendorf (A 92) to Munich (A 9) and an additional bridge in the distribution lane of the A 92. This bridge makes it easier for traffic from Munich to reach the Eching-Ost exit, which uses the distribution lanes of the motorway junction in both directions.

The A 9 has eight lanes in this area. The A 92 has four lanes to the west and six lanes to the east. Except for the ramps in the northeast and southwest quadrants, all connecting ramps have two lanes.

Traffic volume

The cross was used by around 203,000 vehicles every day in 2015, making it one of the busiest in Bavaria.
