The Kaiserslautern motorway triangle (abbreviation: AD Kaiserslautern ; short form: Dreieck Kaiserslautern ) is a motorway triangle in Rhineland-Palatinate , which is located near Kaiserslautern . This is where the federal motorway 6 ( Saarbrücken - Mannheim - Nuremberg ) ( Europastraße 50 ) and the federal motorway 63 (Kaiserslautern - Mainz ) intersect .
geography
The triangle lies in the area of the city of Kaiserslautern . The surrounding towns and communities are Enkenbach-Alsenborn and Mehlingen . It is located about 3 km northeast of downtown Kaiserslautern, about 70 km southwest of Mainz and about 50 km west of Mannheim.
The Kaiserslautern Autobahn triangle is number 15 on the A 63 and number 16a on the A 6.
State of development
The A 6, like the A 63, has two lanes. The crossings to the west have two lanes as they mark the end of the A 63.
The A 63 from Mainz ends at the motorway triangle, which is designed as a motorway fork. There is a connection between the A 63 and the eastern part of the A 6 from / in the direction of Mannheim only via junctions that are included in the motorway triangle.
The Kaiserslautern motorway triangle was opened to traffic on October 15, 2004 by closing the gap between Sembach and Kaiserslautern.
