history

The roots of the company go back to 1912, when the state vehicle administration and later Kraftverkehrsgesellschaft Sachsen AG were founded . In 1970 VEB Kraftverkehr Karl-Marx-Stadt was founded, from which Kraftverkehr AG Chemnitz emerged in the course of privatization. Autobus GmbH Sachsen was formed on July 1, 1991 through a spin-off and municipalization.

In 1992 the Eppendorf branch and the Erdmannsdorf – Augustusburg cable car were spun off. The first connection point for trams and regional buses was set up in Chemnitz-Schönau in 2001 .

Autobus Sachsen operated 53 regional routes. The traffic was handled via locations in Limbach-Oberfrohna , Lugau and Zschopau . In addition, the city bus services were operated in Hohenstein-Ernstthal, Stollberg and Zschopau.

In the city triangle Stollberg  - Oelsnitz  - Lugau , traffic was handled on the Green Line . It was an intersection of regional and city traffic with two lines (as of October 2008). The buses ran in a uniform design that differed from the rest of the company. Attention was paid to favorable connections at the Stollberg station to the City-Bahn (of which a 40% share is held) and to a number of regional bus routes . The lines are served every hour and every half hour during rush hour.

Long - distance transport within Germany has been offered since 2002. Seasonal regular services between Chemnitz and Usedom , Rügen , Zingst and Rerik were operated.

International long-distance traffic existed from Zwickau, Marienberg and Chemnitz to Karlovy Vary  - Marienbad and Lake Balaton . The concession for the Chemnitz – Karlovy Vary line had existed since 1972 - at that time for VEB Kraftverkehr.

The company also offered bus trips. This included individual trips, day trips, multi-day trips as well as school and group trips. The tour operator "ReiseGenuss" was a joint brand with REGIOBUS GmbH Mittelachsen and was continued after the merger to form RVE.
