Axel Sartingen

Axel Sartingen (born December 12, 1964 in Dinslaken ) is a German investor , entrepreneur and manager . In the first decade of the 21st century in particular, he was considered one of the shareholders in Germany who often asserted their rights and interests through legal action .

Axel Sartingen was born to the couple and teachers Jürgen and Gunhild Sartingen. His mother is many years for the SPD was active, she led the SPD faction in the regional council of the administrative district of Dusseldorf . Today he lives with his family in Cologne .

From 2006 to 2008 he was also a member of the board of Dubai Oasis Capital AG ( Munich ). As of 2003, Axel Sartingen, as a shareholder, frequently filed actions to challenge the resolutions of listed stock corporations . He was considered one of the most complacent private investors. An empirical study from 2007 assigned 39 lawsuits to him. Critics therefore called him a professional plaintiff or a predatory shareholder . Axel Sartingen, however, emphasized: “Nobody willingly gives me the true value of my shares in a squeeze-out ”.

Allianz SE , Axa Versicherung AG , Bayer Aktiengesellschaft , Degussa AG , Deutsche Postbank AG , IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG and Premiere AG are among the best-known of the companies affected by the lawsuits .

The background to this was takeovers with subsequent squeeze-outs or domination agreements at the expense of the free shareholders. In many cases, the lawsuits resulted in settlement agreements or decisions by judicial arbitration boards. These provided for higher cash compensation or comparable compensation for the plaintiffs. According to its own information, Axel Sartingen has won around 500 million euros from industry for other free shareholders and himself.

VHF antennas

When Media Broadcast sold all VHF antennas at the end of 2017 , Axel Sartingen and his company Milaco acquired 208 of the approximately 700 systems. Subsequently , the new antenna owners argued with the network operators - Uplink Network and Divicon Media Holding GmbH - as well as broadcasters about the rental amount for antenna usage . Axel Sartingen announced that he would dismantle his antennas from July 1, 2018 if there was no agreement by then. In June 2018, Friedrich Bohl brokered a compromise on behalf of the Federal Network Agency .

Axel Sartingen produced the film Yung , released in 2018 . In his free time he drives car races, among other things. In 2019 he was part of the Black Falcon team , which took part in a 24-hour race on the Circuit of The Americas near Austin , Texas ( United States ) , finishing second in the SPX class .
