Life

Bostan has lived in Munich since 1972. After an apprenticeship as a tailor and a pattern design course at the master school for fashion in Munich, she set up her own label in 1995. Ayzit Bostan also works as a costume designer for the pieces A boy does not mean Mehmet and Illegal of Munich Kammerspiele and the film No songs about love of Lars Kraume .

Reports about Bostan already appear in well-known print media such as Vogue , SZ and Jetzt magazine , in Marie Claire , Elle , Frame , The Face and kid's wear magazine. In 1998 the catwalk premiere of their Spring / Summer 2001 collection was celebrated at an event by Moët & Chandon and Vogue in Berlin.

As a visual artist, she took part in the group exhibition "Alman Mali" ( Turkish for Made in Germany ) of the Kunstverein München in 2008 and presented her designs in various galleries and exhibitions, including at Berlin Fashion Week, Designmai Berlin and im Frame from "Kleid / Clothes" in the Sprüth Magers gallery.

As part of a cooperation that has existed since 2008, Ayzit Bostan has already designed several bag collections for Bree.

Ayzit Bostan was awarded the promotional prize for design from the City of Munich in 1997 and at the Moët & Chandon Fashion Debut in 2000. Her studio is located in Munich's Glockenbachviertel . She was a member of the jury at the 2007 award ceremony for the Upper Bavarian Advancement Award for Young Artists .

Bostan's designs were presented in 2010 as an interface between fashion and art as part of the group exhibition NOT IN FASHION. Fashion and photography of the 90s shown in the Museum for Modern Art (MMK) Frankfurt am Main.

Since October 2012, Bostan has been a professor in the field of textile product design at the Kunsthochschule Kassel .

In 2014 Armin Kratzert made a documentary about her: 'Ayzit Bostan Palast'.

From March to June 2019, Bostan's artwork BLUE was shown on Lenbachplatz in Munich . On the two-sided billboard there was a symbol that acted as a beer foam on a beer mug on one side. On the other hand, it represented a cloud on a reflective background.

For the summer of 2020, Ayzit Bostan was invited by the Goethe-Institut Paris to take part in the Munich Unique event cycle together with other designers and artists from Munich , which brings Parisians closer to the cultural life of a different German city every summer. 2020 would have been Munich's turn. Inspired by the abandoned beach umbrellas after the end of the summer season in Turkey, Ayzit Bostan planned her installation Parasol as a meeting point in public space. It should be in the garden of the Musée Galliera fashion museum from April to July 2020 . Due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic , the project could not be implemented. However, Parasol could be shown in 2021.
