Burgäschi stage
The Burgäschi stage has been presenting an open-air operetta every two years since 2009 in the castle courtyard in Burgäschi in the Swiss Central Plateau . In the intervening years a "summer music week" is organized. The Stage Burgäschi is a sub-organization of the non-profit association Musik im Äusseren Wasseramt.
The artistic direction of the festival deliberately relies on young talent and its own ensemble , which allows the productions to grow in a longer trial phase. The 2013 stage program at the Burgäschi stage comprised 20 performances, which were attended by around 9,000 spectators. The house orchestra of the Burgäschi stage is the Crescendo Orchestra.
Events and venues
Big operetta in the courtyard
The venue for the operettas on the Burgäschi stage is in Burgäschi in Solothurn . At the first edition in 2009, Emmerich Kálmán's operetta Countess Mariza was performed in the castle courtyard of the Aeschlimann family. The venue was just on the border between the two cantons of Solothurn and Bern .
December concert / operetta gala
Every year the Dachverein Musik organizes a December concert in the Äusseren Wasseramt. The venue varies; in addition to the courtyard, the Reformed churches in Seeberg , Wangen an der Aare , Herzogenbuchsee , Gerlafingen and Derendingen have already been selected as venues. The performances included the Soledurner Wiehnechtsoratorium by Urs Joseph Flury (2011), D Zäller Wiehnacht by Paul Burkhard (2007) and opera classics, sung by the soloists from the Burgäschi stage and accompanied by the altophonium QUARTETT (2010). The December concerts have been held as an operetta gala with a salon orchestra since 2013.
Summer music week / chamber operetta
In the years when there is no operetta, the Musik im Äusseren Wasseramt organizes a summer music week with various concerts in the Solothurn Wasseramt and in the neighboring Oberaargau . In the summer of 2012, for example, the program consisted of an evening devoted exclusively to composers from Solothurn, an operetta matinée, a Taizénacht, and several performances of Paul Burkhard's musical comedy The Black Pike . Since then, a chamber operetta has been played in the years in which no major operetta is produced.
