Bülent Bölükbaşı (born June 17, 1976 in Adana ) is a former Turkish football player and coach.

Player career

society

Bülent Bölükbaşı began playing club football in the youth of Adana Gençlerbirliği and became a professional player at the second division Adanaspor in the summer of 1995 . Here he became a regular player straight away and played regularly for two years. For the 1999/00 season he moved to Hatayspor and played here for a season. He then moved to league rivals Konyaspor and played here for two years.

For the 2001/02 season he moved to the first division club Gaziantepspor . After just four weeks, he was loaned to the league competitor Diyarbakırspor . He returned to Gaziantepspor for the next season. Here he made his final breakthrough and made it into the national team. In the 2002/03 season they reached fourth place in the table and qualified for the UEFA Cup . This success was repeated in the following season.

For the 2005/06 season he moved to Kayserispor and was active here for two years. With this team he achieved participation in the UEFA Cup via the UEFA Intertoto Cup. He returned to Gaziantepspor in the summer of 2007/08 and played here for one season.

He then worked for various TFF 1st Lig and Süper Lig clubs.

In the summer of 2010 he returned to the club where he began his professional career, to Adanaspor. In the 2011/12 season he made it with his club to the playoff final of the TFF 1st Lig . In the final they lost to Kasımpaşa Istanbul 2: 3 in extra time and thus missed promotion to the Süper Lig only in the last encounter. After this failed promotion, he ended his playing career.

National team

Bölükbaşı played once for the second selection and once for the first selection of the Turkish national football team .

Coaching career

After the end of his playing career, Bölükbaşı remained without activity for about half a year and then took over the U-14 team of his last club, Adanaspors . In this role he worked until the next summer. In November 2013 he began to coach the U-16 team from second division Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor . After the head coach position became vacant at this club at the end of February 2014, he took over this position together with his former teammate Mehmet Polat . At the end of the season he handed over his office to Nurullah Sağlam .

In April 2016 he took over the club, which was renamed Büyükşehir Gaziantepspor in the summer of 2016 , first on an interim basis and then finally as head coach at the end of the season. Since he does not have the necessary coaching license, he is officially given to the association as an assistant coach and his actual assistant coach Vedat Özsoylu as head coach. In November 2016 he was replaced by Metin Diyadin .
