Bulent Kullukcu

Bülent Kullukcu (born August 11, 1971 in Markt Indersdorf ) is a Turkish-German director , actor , musician and visual artist . He lives and works in Munich.

Bülent Kullukcu realized numerous national and international music projects (e.g. Generation Aldi, Hart of Noise, Naquob, Electric Lounge Orchestra, The Mistake Man) in the areas of club and festival culture (including Spielart Munich, Donaueschingen, Musikwochen Brandenburg, Le Lieu Unique in Nantes, Exit Festival Paris, Concertgebouw Bruges)

He works as a stage musician for productions at the Prinzregententheater , Metropol Theater Munich , Schauspielhaus Zwickau , Schauspielhaus Luzern and for independent theater productions. Kullukcu created film music and radio plays (including for BR, WDR), numerous sound installations for museums as well as many vinyl and CD releases on various labels.

As a musician u. a. m. Known for “covering turntables with meat or setting fire to turntables” in his installation performances, the artist received the 2007 award for “best film music” in the international competition of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival for his score for Nikias Chryssos ' skyscraper (2006).

Theater and film

Kulukcu came into contact with internationally renowned directors early on and was involved in the short film Magic Bus by Emir Kusturica as the leading actor.

In 2004, he wrote and directed the play Kanakstar with Anthony Lew Shun , which premiered at the Münchner Kammerspiele as part of the Bunny Hill project . A second part of the piece followed in the Muffathalle . In 2006 he directed the play Der Fremde, a strangler from Munich at the Münchner Kammerspiele based on Albert Camus' novel Der Fremde .

In 2007 he received the award for the best film music in the international competition of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival for his score for Nikias Chryssos ' skyscraper (2006) He starred in the short film Magic Bus (1997) by Emir Kusturica . In 2007 he directed the play Mia San Murat about the life of Murat Kurnaz at the Munich Kammerspiele .

In 2008 he was nominated for Young Director of the Year in the yearbook of Theaterheute magazine.

In 2010 Kullukcu opened GALERIE KULLUKCU, since 2013 GALERIE KULLUKCU & GREGORIAN in Munich.

Together with the author İmran Ayata , Bülent Kullukcu released the CD "Songs of Gastarbeiter Vol. 1" on Trikont in October 2013.
