The high level of jurisdiction lay with the respective sovereigns; These were initially the Counts of Lenzburg , from 1172 the Kyburger and from 1264 the Habsburgs . Only one farm existed during the Middle Ages. With the settlement of further farming families in 1653, 1664 and 1735, Rütihof grew into a small hamlet. The Rütihofer farmers did not belong to any community, but were subordinate to the Untervogt in Birmenstorf and the Meier in Dättwil . They were not citizens and had no right to poor relief. In 1778 the first school in the village was established. Rütihof always belonged to the parish of Baden, but received its own cemetery with chapel in 1897. Shortly after the beginning of the 20th century, water and electricity supplies as well as a post office were added, in 1937 the schoolhouse, which is still in use today. In 1962, when Rütihof had 315 inhabitants, the municipality of Dättwil was merged with the city of Baden. After the opening of the motorway , there was strong growth. In 1981 the number of 1000 inhabitants was reached, in 2000 Rütihof had 2000 inhabitants. Growth has stagnated since 2005, as there is hardly any free building land available.
