The European Championship was awarded on April 20, 2013 at the Annual Delegates' Meeting of Badminton Europe in Bratislava. The BWF world rankings of February 20, 2014 were decisive for participation. The seeding was based on the BWF world ranking of April 3, 2014. The seeding list was published on April 4, 2014. The draw took place four days later on April 8, 2014. It was broadcast live on the Badminton Europe YouTube channel.
