Bahattin Demircan (born April 10, 1956 in Izmir ) is a former Turkish soccer goalkeeper and current coach.

Athletic career

In the club

Bahattin Demircan began his career with Izmirspor in the 1975/76 season . Two years later, the goalkeeper moved to Galatasaray Istanbul . In his first season for the yellow-reds Demircan was able to oust long-time goalkeeper Nihat Akbay from the gate. A season later Demircan was second goalkeeper behind Eser Özaltındere and was used in two league games and one game in the UEFA Cup.

He said goodbye to Galatasaray and went to Çaykur Rizespor . After his time in Rize, Edirnespor , Göztepe Izmir , Gaziantepspor , Kayserispor and Nişantaşıspor followed .

Bahattin Demircan ended his active career at the age of 40 with Maltepespor in the 3rd division.

In the national team

Demircan was used in the Turkish U-18 and U-21.

Coaching career

Bahattin Demircan's first coaching activity was in the 1996/97 season as an assistant coach at Çorluspor . A season later he became the first goalkeeping coach for Diyarbakırspor .

In November 2011 Demircan became head coach at the third division club Eyüpspor . He was released there after six weeks. In six games managed only two draws under his responsibility, the remaining four games were lost.

He has been a goalkeeping coach at Kütahyaspor since October 2018 .
