The Basel Dreispitz station is one of six stations in the city of Basel . It is located in the Jura train in the district of St. Alban the so-called Dreispitzareal , in close proximity to the at the Hauenstein railway line situated Bahnhof Basel St. Jakob . The station is served by the S3 line of the Basel S-Bahn .
Its operational name, however, is the Dreispitz S-Bahn stop , since from a transport service point of view it is not a train station, but a stop on the open route.
history
The train station was designed by the architects Steinmann & Schmid Architekten . The station was built in 2005 despite numerous objections from the local residents and put into operation in May 2006; it is connected to the Basel S-Bahn network. In 2008 the station received a Brunel Award from the Watford Group.

The Dreispitz station is connected to the tram and bus network of the city of Basel and the agglomeration with various lines. Nearby commercial and school areas can be reached in a short time, as can the Merian Gardens. The St. Jakob sports center and the football stadium of the same name are one stop away.
