With the construction of the state railway line of the Badische Hauptbahn from Mannheim to Basel , whose section from Offenburg to Freiburg was opened on August 1, 1845, the municipality of Emmendingen received a connection to the national railway network for the first time.
After a construction period of 21 months, the modernized and barrier-free Emmendingen train station was opened on May 16, 2014.
