The Madrid Nuevos Ministerios train station (Spanish Estación de Nuevos Ministerios ) is an underground transport hub in the Spanish capital, Madrid . It is served by eight lines of the Cercanías Madrid and three lines of the Madrid Metro . It is located near the AZCA financial center at the intersection of Paseo de la Castellana with Calle de Joaquin Costa and Calle de Raimundo Fernández Villaverde and also near the ministerial complex of the same name.

The station was opened in 1967, when after 34 years of construction of the Túnel de la risa (because of the decades-long construction period to German as "tunnel of laughter") of renfe was completed to the north converging on Madrid railway lines to the Atocha train station to connect. On October 11, 1979, the first connection to the metro followed with line 6 ; further lines were added in 1982, 1998 and 2002; In 2008 another railway tunnel between Atocha and Madrid-Chamartín was completed, which also received platforms in Nuevos Ministerios.

The six-track station consists of two parts. Four tracks on three platforms are in the older tunnel (via Recoletos), while the trains from the new tunnel (Sol) stop on two tracks on two platforms.

The platforms of the metro are also partly designed in a Spanish solution , Nuevos Ministerios is a station on ring line 6 and cross-city line 10, as well as the end point of line 8 to Barajas airport . Until 2006 it was possible to check in luggage at Nuevos Ministerios. Until 2011, the Nuevos Ministerios metro station was also the central transfer point for travelers to the airport who were arriving on other metro lines and had to take line 8 here. With the opening of the Cercanías line C1, a second connection was created, but only to Terminal T4.

The station is also served by some Renfe Media Distancia trains. A pair of InterCity trains connects Madrid Chamartín via Nuevos Ministerios and Madrid Atocha with Valencia-Norte , other regional express and regional trains connect Nuevos Ministerios with Valencia and Segovia .

For travelers to Terminals 1, 2 and 3 of Barajas Airport, Nuevos Ministerios continues to be the most important transfer hub, as these terminals can only be reached by metro.
