The district court Ostheim vor der Rhön was a court of ordinary jurisdiction based in Ostheim vor der Rhön .

history

The Amt Lichtenberg , based in Ostheim, was an exclave of the Grand Duchy of Saxony in the Kingdom of Bavaria in the 19th century . In 1849/50 in the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach the jurisdiction was separated from the administration and the patrimonial courts were abolished . The Ostheim office was merged with other offices in the Rhön to form the Dermbach administrative district , also known as the IV administrative district , with its seat in Dermbach . The judiciary was carried out by the Justice Office Lichtenberg zu Ostheim.

On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, the Lichtenberg Justice Office in the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach was converted into the Ostheim District Court. It was subordinate to the Eisenach regional court . The trial included the Sprengel municipalities Melpers , Kleinostheim (Lichtenberg), Sondheim , Stetten , Urspringen and the unincorporated parts of Ostheimer and heir houses forestry mining area. In 1888 the court had 3,932 inmates and a magistrate, making it by far the smallest court in the district court.

When the state of Thuringia was founded in 1923, the court organization was reorganized. The district court Ostheim vor der Rhön was now subordinate to the district court Meiningen and included Birx , Frankenheim auf der Rhön , Melpers, Ostheim with Lichtenberg, Sondheim vor der Rhön, Stetten, Urspringen and parts of the Ostheim and Erbenhausen forestry district with the following forest locations: Abtsberg, Erlsberg, Oberer Stellberg, Mittlerer Stellberg, Unterer Stellberg and Hählecke.

In 1944 the Ostheim district court was repealed and its district was assigned to that of the (Bavarian) district court of Mellrichstadt .
