Gerstungen District Court

The Gerstungen District Court (until 1879 Gerstungen Justice Office ) was a court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1850 to 1949 and was based in Gerstungen .

In the course of the separation of jurisdiction from administration in the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach in 1850 and the simultaneous abolition of patrimonial jurisdiction , a judicial office in Gerstungen was created, the district of which included the dissolved office of Gerstungen , i.e. the municipalities of Abteroda , Auenheim (with Rienau ). , Berka / Werra , Dankmarshausen , Dippach , Fernbreitenbach , Gasteroda , Gerstungen, Göringen , Gospenroda , Großensee , Hausbreitenbach , Herda (with Kratzeroda and Lutzberg ), Horschlitt , Lauchröden (with Schmalweihhof), Neustädt , Sallmannshausen , Unterellen , Untersuhl , Vitzeroda and Wünschensuhl (with Dietrichsberg).

With the enactment of the Judicature Act on 1 October 1879, the judicial office in the District Court Gerstungen was converted while the newly built district court Eisenach assigned. Here Gerstunger judicial district was around by then to Justice Office Tiefenort counting district Frauensee expanded.

After Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach was dissolved in Thuringia in 1920, the previous district court districts were reorganized across the state on October 1, 1923. The places Frauensee and Vitzeroda were separated from the Gerstungen district court and assigned to the Vacha district court.

On October 1, 1949, the Gerstungen District Court was repealed and its district was assigned to the Eisenach District Court .
