List of train stations in Switzerland |
The Pratteln station is a railway junction southeast of Basel and the separation station of the SBB lines Basel - Olten ( Hauenstein line ) and Basel - Zurich ( Bözberg line ). The station is mainly served by the S1 and S3 lines of the Basel S-Bahn .
history
In 1854 construction began on the future main line through the Hauenstein , which was opened across the board in 1858.
As an alternative to the Hauenstein line of the Swiss Central Railway , which opened in 1858 with the detour via Olten , the Bözbergbahn (BöB), a joint venture of the Nordostbahn and the Centralbahn, opened the 49-kilometer route from Pratteln via Rheinfelden through the Fricktal and the 2nd '' 526 meter long Bözberg tunnel to Brugg . Between Basel and Pratteln the trains used the Centralbahn route. The line was initially built with a single track and later expanded to include a second track.
After a long period of preparation, the Basel Regional S-Bahn started operating in 1997 . The first two lines were the S1 ( Mülhausen - Basel SBB - Frick / Laufenburg ) and S3 ( Olten - Basel SBB - Laufen ), which ran via Pratteln, from June 1, 1997 . On May 24, 1998, the train sequence on the S1 was condensed.
In 2004, the Pratteln train station was expanded and modernized to be barrier-free , and the number of lockers increased.
For timetable change 2008/2009 in December 2008 Pratteln received with Pratteln Salina Raurica a second train -Haltestelle, which is located on the Bözberg railway line and is operated exclusively by the S1.
Track systems
Pratteln station has a total of six continuous tracks, five of which have a platform and four of which are used for regular traffic.
The numbering begins on the north side of the reception building .
- Track 1 is a through track and is the main platform directly in front of the station building. The track serves the S-Bahn trains on line S3 in the direction of Basel SBB .
- Track 2 shares an island platform with track 4 . Today the trains of the S-Bahn line S3 in the direction of Olten stop here .
- Track 4 is a through track and is located on the platform next to track 2. Today the S1 S-Bahn trains stop here in the direction of Basel SBB.
- Track 5 is another through track and shares with track 7 the outermost island platform. This track serves the S-Bahn of the S1 line in the direction of Frick / Laufenburg .
- Track 7 on the outermost platform is a through track and is now used exclusively as a sideline for trains .
- Track 8 is the outermost through track. This is the only track without a platform. It is occasionally used as a storage or through track for freight trains.
links
Pratteln is in the tariff area of the Northwestern Switzerland tariff association (TNW).
Around 180 trains run daily via Pratteln station, almost all of which are S-Bahn trains.
Long-distance transport
With just two individual trains in the direction of Basel SBB, Pratteln station is connected to the national long-distance network. These trains come from Zurich via the Bözberg line. In the direction of Zurich, all long-distance trains run through without stopping in Pratteln.
- IR( Zurich Airport - Zurich Oerlikon -) Zurich HB - Baden - Brugg AG - Frick - Stein-Säckingen - Rheinfelden - Pratteln - Basel SBB (two trains; only in the direction described)
Since the opening of the Eagle Tunnel in 2000, long-distance trains to and from Olten have been able to bypass the station.
S-Bahn traffic
The S-Bahn lines S1 and S3 branch after the Pratteln train station in the direction of Stein-Säckingen or Olten. Since both lines achieve a fairly large number of passengers, both run on sections of the route every half hour (the S1 between Basel SBB and Stein-Säckingen , the S3 between Olten and Laufen ). Since both lines run between Basel SBB and Pratteln, the overlapping of the two lines creates an odd quarter-hour cycle on this branch. Additional trains are used on both routes during rush hour. These then only run between Basel SBB and Stein-Säckingen (S1) or between Olten, Basel and Delémont .
- S 1 ( Mulhouse Ville -) Basel SBB - Pratteln - Rheinfelden - Stein-Säckingen - Frick / Laufenburg
- S 3 Porrentruy - Delémont - Laufen - Basel SBB - Pratteln - Liestal - Sissach - Olten
Bus transport
There are two bus stops on the southern forecourt of the station , which are served by two bus routes operated by Autobus AG Liestal (AAGL):
- Line 80: Liestal - Niederschönthal - Pratteln - Basel Aeschenplatz
- Line 83: Liestal - Arisdorf - Giebenach - Kaiseraugst - Augst - Pratteln
The following two bus lines have been stopping on the northern side of the station since December 9, 2012:
- Line 79: Pratteln train station - old people's home - Lachmatt - Aquabasilea
- Line 82: Aquabasilea - Pratteln Bahnhof - Grüssenweg (- Blözen cemetery)
Tram traffic
About 200 meters south of the Pratteln train station is the Pratteln, Bahnhofstrasse stop , which is served by line 14 of the Basel tram and offers a connection to downtown Basel without changing trains.
