Arisdorf ( Swiss German Aschdrf [ ˈɑːʃdrf ]) is a municipality in the district of Liestal in the canton of Basel-Landschaft in Switzerland .
geography
Arisdorf is 345 m above sea level. M. near the motorway exit Arisdorf of the A2 and the Arisdorf tunnel . The municipality also includes the hamlet of Basel-Olsberg, which is separated from Aargau-Olsberg by the Violenbach . Arisdorf is connected to the AAGL line 83 from the canton capital Liestal and Augst / Pratteln . Its neighboring communities are Giebenach , Füllinsdorf , Liestal, Hersberg , and the Aargau communities Magden and Olsberg .
history
In 1154 the village of Arnold (Arnolsdorf) was first mentioned. In 1300 the village came from the Frohburgers to the Lords of Thierstein . In 1446 the Lords of Bärenfels bought the whole village. In 1532 they sold it to the city of Basel . In 1798 Arisdorf was the starting point for the Basel Revolution , which brought the Landschäftler subjects equal rights with the city.
In 1882 the previously independent municipality of Olsberg BL was merged with Arisdorf.

economy
Arisdorf is a decidedly farming village with a striking number of cherry and apple trees.

- Late Gothic church from 1595 with the first harmonic bells (three-part) in the Baselland from 1849.

- Old rectory with the symbols of the French Revolution carved into the southern arbor in 1798.
