The Sesto San Giovanni train station is the train station of the northern Italian city of Sesto San Giovanni , part of the metropolitan city of Milan . It is operated by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana and is an important hub for commuter traffic (including the Milan S-Bahn ). U-station is located under the station Sesto 1 ° Maggio FS of the subway line M1 .
history
The station was put into operation on January 19, 1969 and replaced the old station, which was about 1 km south - in the area of today 's Sesto Rondò underground station .
The underground station, which is located in the tunnel under the forecourt, opened on September 28, 1986.
