The railway line Suchdol nad Odrou – Budišov nad Budišovkou is a regional railway connection in the Czech Republic , which was originally built and operated by the kk priv. Kaiser Ferdinands-Nordbahn (KFNB) as the local line Zauchtel – Bautsch. It runs from Suchdol nad Odrou ( Zauchtel ) via Odry ( Odrau ) and Vítkov ( Wigstadtl ) to Budišov nad Budišovkou ( Bautsch ).

According to a decree of the Czech government, the line has been classified as a regional railway ("regionální dráha") since December 20, 1995.

history

The license for the Zauchtel – Bautsch local railway was awarded to the KFNB on April 16, 1890 together with the Zauchtel – Fulnek and Troppau – Bennisch lines . Part of the concession was the obligation to submit the detailed project for approval within six months and to begin construction immediately after receiving the building permit and to complete it within a year and a half. The license was issued until December 31, 1975. The line was opened on October 15, 1891. The KFNB carried out the operation itself.

After the nationalization of the KFNB on January 1, 1906, the line belonged to the network of the kk Staatsbahnen (kkStB). From January 1, 1907, the kkStB also took over the management. In 1912, the local railway timetable indicated four mixed pairs of 2nd and 3rd class trains. They needed over 2.5 hours for the 40-kilometer route uphill.

After the First World War, the line came to the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD). The winter timetable of 1937/38 recorded four pairs of 3rd class passenger trains per day, another to and from Odrau only ran on Sundays.

After the Sudetenland was annexed to Germany in autumn 1938, the line came to the Deutsche Reichsbahn , Reichsbahndirektion Opole . In the Reich course book , the connection was now included as course book route 151j Zauchtel – Bautsch . After the end of the Second World War , the route was completely returned to the ČSD.

On January 1, 1993, the line was transferred to the newly founded České dráhy (ČD) in the course of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia . Since 2003 it has been part of the network of the state infrastructure operator Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC).

In the 2012 timetable, the route is served by passenger trains every day at approximately two-hour intervals.
