Bakacak (formerly Seyithasan ) is a former village in Bismil County in the Turkish province of Diyarbakır . Bakacak is located about 59 km east of the provincial capital Diyarbakır and 8 km northwest of Bismil. Bakacak had 253 inhabitants (2014) according to the last census. Since a regional reform, the place is a district of the district town of Bismil.

The population consists mainly of Alevi Turks . Along with Aralık , Eliaçık , Karamusa , Köseli , Recep , Türkmenhacı and Ulutürk, Bakacak is one of the few villages in the Diyarbakır province that has been populated by Turks. The name of the village Bakacak (from Turkish bakmak for look ) can be translated as will look .

For centuries the important sources of income have traditionally been agriculture and animal husbandry . Many people left the village due to lack of jobs and settled in Istanbul , Diyarbakır or Bismil.
