Balbina (bourgeois Balbina Monika Jagielska , born May 13, 1983 in Warsaw ), formerly Bina , is a German - Polish singer , composer and songwriter who is under contract with Sony Music . She has been publishing on her own label since 2020.

Life

Balbina grew up in Warsaw until she was three years old and in 1986 moved with her parents to Berlin-Moabit . After her parents separated, she moved with her mother to Berlin-Neukölln , where she later attended the Albert Einstein Grammar School and graduated in 2002 with the Abitur. She then completed a degree in business administration after completing her preliminary diploma examination .

Even during her elementary school days, Balbina began to write poems and songs, staged plays with classmates and practiced singing as an autodidact in order to be able to interpret songs by Whitney Houston as authentically as possible. At the end of the 1990s, because of her affinity to the Berlin hip-hop and rap scene, she came into contact with the independent label Royal Bunker , where she met numerous genre representatives such as Prinz Pi , MOR , KIZ and Biztram . With the latter, she produced her first studio album in 2011 Bina , besides, she had at that time numerous appearances in smaller clubs , toured with the etching and featurete Prinz Pi.

Since 2014 she has been accompanied by Nicolas Rebscher ( guitar , bass , piano ), Tobias Rebscher (guitar) and Christian Vinne ( drums ) in live performances .

In 2015, Balbina and her musicians were the opening act for Herbert Grönemeyer's Continuous Now Tour.
