Balkanika

Balkanika ( Serbian Балканика) is a Serbian band that was founded in 1998 by the composer Sanja Ilić . She represented Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon with the song Nova Deca .

According to its founder, Sanja Ilić, the aim of the music group is to preserve, revive and modernize the Serbian medieval and Byzantine musical tradition. The group made it to the finals where they finally finished 19th.

Balkanika also consists of the following members:

  • Singing : Nevena Stamenković, Danica Krstić (born November 25, 1995 ), Marija Bjelanović, Mladen Lukić and Nemanja Kojić
  • Drums : Aleksandar Radulović and Milan Jejina
  • Guitar : Branimir Marković and Nebojša Nedeljković
  • Flute : Ljubomir Dimitrijević
