Balthasar Augustin Albrecht (born January 6, 1687 in Berg am Starnberger See , † August 15, 1765 in Munich ) was a Munich court painter .

Life

He was the creator of the altarpiece in the Wieskirche in 1753/54 and frescoed the Munich residence . He also made altarpieces for Dießen , Polling , Schäftlarn and the Heilig-Geist-Kirche in Munich as well as St. Michael in Niederaudorf . Another altarpiece, originally made for the house chapel of a Munich merchant couple, is now in the old Sollner church .

Albrecht was also responsible for several altar leaves in the baroque monastery church in Münsterschwarzach , which has now been abandoned . Here he created the Sebastianspflege, an Ecce Homo representation and the paintings of the monastery saints Benedict and Scholastica of Nursia.
