Freiburger Kantonalbank (FKB; French Banque Cantonale de Friborg (BCF), formerly Freiburger Staatsbank or Banque de l'État de Friborg ) based in Friborg has been the name of the cantonal bank of the canton of Friborg since 1998 . It was founded in 1892 and is organized in the form of an independent legal entity under public law.

The Freiburger Kantonalbank is wholly owned by the canton of Friborg. The area of activity of the Freiburger Kantonalbank has traditionally been in retail banking, mortgage lending, private banking and banking with small and medium-sized companies . The Freiburger Kantonalbank has an unlimited state guarantee . This means that the canton is liable for all of the bank's liabilities.

The supreme supervisory body of the Freiburger Kantonalbank is the board of directors. This consists of seven members and is currently chaired by Albert Michel. According to Art. 20 Para. 1 of the Cantonal Bank Act, three members of the Board of Directors are elected by the Grand Council ( legislature of the canton), three by the State Council ( executive branch of the canton) and one by the Board of Directors itself. The Presidium is determined by the Council of State.
The general management is responsible for operational management. This consists of four members and is headed by Edgar Jeitziner.
